Walt Disney Concert Hall

Canon EOS 1D Mark II

On March 9, 2006, my brother (who was visiting from the east coast) visited the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles to take some photos of the inspiring exterior.

It wouldn’t be until March 10, 2017, that I’d finally get a glimpse of the amazing interior thanks to a generous friend who shared a ticket to an acoustically impressive & genuinely intimate concert by the always impressive Glen Hansard.

Lupine Spring Catalog

In early 2006, I was contacted by Lupine, a dog accessories company on the east coast. Although I had no professional experience shooting animals, they liked my portraits and wanted to know if I’d be interested in shooting for their spring 2006 catalog.

Work with dogs!? Are you kidding me? Of course, I said yes.

Lupine was the first company (vs individual) to hire me for a full day. Little did they know I probably would have done it for free.

Working with dogs was an awesome experience. As was having my work adorn the front & back covers of their spring catalog.

Canon EOS D60 (infrared converted)

In November of 2005, for the second time in my life, I packed up everything I owned and made a cross-country trek to the west coast. This time, instead of living in the San Francisco Bay area, I was heading to sunny southern California to try to get a foothold in the photography field.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

This infrared photo was taken en route — somewhere in eastern Utah, I believe.
